Benefits of Applying for International Trademarks in Singapore

According to IPOS – in Singapore, there is a priority claim procedure in place for applicants who have filed an earlier application for the same mark in another Paris Convention country or a World Trade Organization member country (other than Singapore). The Singapore application must be filed within 6 months from the date of the first filing.

Filing and owning the trademark in Singapore has one added advantage – The owner of the trademark is able to use a Singapore company to own the trademark. This allows for convenience in transferring of ownership whenever necessary.
