Scheme Description

Aim(s): 

  • Give companies an opportunity to internationalise

Singapore companies eligible for co-funding cost support up to 50% while SMEs are eligible for funding cost support up to 70%. Consists of many different grants which have different areas of focus and with different criteria for each grant

Capability Building grant

Activities Support
Development of internationalization strategy

Provides subsidies of up to 70% to SMEs and 50% for non-SMEs for costs incurred in engaging a third-party professional who develops strategies for internationalization

This is valid till 31 March 2018.

Execution of strategy-

Should be within 12 months of strategizing

 

Provides subsidies of up to 70% to SMEs and 50% for non-SMEs for costs incurred in engaging a third-party professional who develops strategies for internationalization

Activities Support
Increase market presence Provides subsidies of up to 70% to SMEs and 50% for non-SMEs for costs incurred in engaging a third-party professional who develops these strategies
Gain entrance into new markets

Provides subsidies of up to 70% to SMEs and 50% for non-SMEs (capped at S$100000 per year for SMEs and non-SMEs) for costs incurred in engaging a third-party professional who develops strategies for internationalization

Covers costs such as rental costs, basic salary for business development staff,

 

 

Talent Attraction grant

Activities Support
International human resource strategies 50% of costs in hiring third party HR professional firm co-funded by IE Singapore with SMEs getting up to 70% of funding support

Talent attraction (for Potential hires)

· Young Talent Programme (YTP) Market Immersion

 

 

· Talent Recruitment

To encourage companies to recruit mid-career professionals to lead overseas expansion team

 

·        YTP Market Immersion

Companies will have the opportunity of getting local students for internships overseas. These students will receive allowance from IE and their institutions

·        Talent Recruitment

50% of costs covered for SMEs engaging a third-party recruitment consultant team to hire important senior executives and important talent into company and 70% for non-SMEs.

Talent Development (for current staff)

· Overseas Market Attachments

At least one experienced mentor (either from company or a business associate based in attachment market) should be sent to guide the rest of the staff.

 

· International Business Fellowship (iBF) Executive Programme

 

 

 

· Customised Training for Overseas Exapnsion

 

 

 

50% of costs co-funded by IE Singapore with SMEs getting up to 70% of funding support

Areas of support:

·        One return economy class airfare

·        Basic salary capped at 6 months of pay

·        Third party departure training

Up to 70% of course fees subsidized for all companies sending nominated Singaporean or PR employees

 

 

50% of costs co-funded by IE Singapore with SMEs getting up to 70% of funding support for engaging a third-party professional to conduct customized training

*Training does not include courses that:

·        Make up part of everyday operations

·        Are legally required to be held

·        Are ISO standardization courses

 

 


Qualifying Criteria

  • Sales turnover of more than $500,000
  • Singapore Based company
  • Paid up capital of more than $50,000
